T-Online France is a subsidiary of the T-Online Group itself a company of the Deutsche Telekom Group, the public telecommunication operator in Germany.
T-Online France, which AS Number is AS5410 registered at the RIPE NCC authority, is a French network operator and a RIPE Local Internet Registry (LIR). As a network operator, T-Online France deploys and maintains a large-scale IP network in Europe built upon Ten Gigabits per second (10Gbps) and STM-16 (2.5Gbps) links supporting one million residential PSTN and broadband customers and thus generating a massive amount of Internet traffic.
The public brand of T-Online France is Club-Internet: http://www.club-internet.fr/ The corporate T-Online France web site is accessible at: http://www.t-online.fr/
In order to establish either a PPI or a PNI with AS5410, the candidate network should meet the following criteria:
The candidate shall be a public or privately held company officially registered in its home country's trade and/or industry authority.
The candidate's network should justify a certain amount of traffic with AS5410 either originated from its own network (peer-as) or from the networks taking transit from it (origin-as). The minimum acceptable amount of traffic remains at the discretion of T-Online France's network authority and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
The candidate's Network Operation Centre (NOC) shall be reachable either by e-mail or phone 24/7/365. Thus the candidate has to provide any operational contact to T-Online France and advertise T-Online France of any change in the contacts' details.
AS5410 is available at the following Internet eXchange points:
PaNAP, Paris, FR (http://www.panap.fr/) : n x 10 Gigabit Ethernet
PARIX, Paris, FR (http://www.parix.net/) : 2 x Gigabit Ethernet
SFINX, Paris, FR (http://www.sfinx.tm.fr/) : 1 x Gigabit Ethernet
FreeIX, Paris, FR (http://www.freeix.net/) : 2 x Gigabit Ethernet
LINX, London, UK (http://www.linx.net/) : 10 x Gigabit Ethernet
AMS-IX, Amsterdam, NL (http://www.ams-ix.net/) : 10 x Gigabit Ethernet
DE-CIX, Frankfurt, DE (http://www.decix.de/) : 10 x Gigabit Ethernet
T-Online France's peering policy does not require the candidate to establish more than one PPI, but any PPI generating more than 200Mbps of traffic should be redounded by the mean of establishing a second PPI at any other exchange point where both T-Online France and the candidate's network are also present. However, justifying of 200Mbps is not a minimal requirement to establish more than one PPI, thus networks generating less than 200Mbps of traffic with T-Online France may set up other PPI.
T-Online France also accepts to establish PNI with other networks when both T-Online France's network and the candidate's network are co-located at the same housing facility or when both networks agree to share circuit's costs if they are not in the same facility, but in the same city. Physical media available to privately interconnect with T-Online France are:
100BaseTX Fast Ethernet.
STM-1, short reach, single mode fibre.
1000BaseTX Gigabit Ethernet.
1000BaseSX Gigabit Ethernet, multi mode fibre.
1000BaseLX Gigabit Ethernet, single mode fibre.
1000BaseZX Gigabit Ethernet, single mode fibre.
STM-16, short reach, single mode fibre.
10GBase-LR Ten Gigabit Ethernet, single mode fibre.
10GBase-ER Ten Gigabit Ethernet, single mode fibre.
The housing facility where to establish the PNI shall be discussed directly with the candidate.
Upon establishing either a PPI or PNI, the candidate SHALL:
Advertise fully aggregated prefixes.
Advertise at least prefixes for registered route (either at RIPE or IRR) with candidate's network AS number as origin.
Advertise its transit customers either for the region(s) where is (are) the PPI(s) or PNI(s) established if agreed so or worldwide if not specified.
Accept all the prefixes sent by T-Online France. Those prefixes are the registered routes object at the RIPE NCC RSPL database (whois.ripe.net) originated by any AS number declared as member of the AS T ONLINEFRANCE AS-Macro.
Accept and route traffic sent by T-Online France to the final destinations for each prefix advertised. No black-holing is allowed.
Have its routing policy filed at RIPE or IRR.
In case of multiple PPI or PNI, send the traffic to the interconnection T-Online France has chosen, or to the closest exit if not specified ("hot potatoes" routing).
The candidate shall NOT:
Set a default route to T-Online France's network or set a route to T-Online France's network to a destination not being a part of the prefixes advertised by T-Online France.
Advertise or re-advertise prefixes originated from AS(es) the candidate's network learned from its own peerings.
T-Online France MAY:
Shutdown the peering if invalid prefixes are advertised by the candidate's network to T-Online France.
Shutdown the peering if packet-loss or abnormal round-trip time delays are observed.
Shutdown the peering in case or BGP session flap.
Shutdown the peering if the traffic amount is bellow the agreed level with the candidate upon PPI or PNI opening.
Ask the candidate to establish another PPI or PNI if the amount of traffic is superior to a certain level.
Shutdown the peering for a limited amount of time to perform maintenance or upgrades with its peering routers.
Send traffic to the candidate's network to the closest exit ("hot potatoes" routing).
If the candidate meets the prerequisites stated early in this document or think T-Online France should establish a PPI or PNI even if he does not, then please send your peering request by e-mail at: peering@t-online.fr
Your request will be carefully evaluated by our peering committee and an answer be returned with regards to your request within five (5) working days.
If your peering policy requires T-Online France to sign a peering agreement, please attach it to your peering request in order our legal department to be able to review it.
